Skills Development Pgms & Learnerships

Skills Development Programmes

Skills Development Programmes are learning programmes linked to an occupation (job related aspects) as well as to SAQA standards. Skills programmes are course that are usually based on NQF unit standards and that could, if chosen correctly, add up to a qualification. This qualification can be obtained once the learner has accumulated the required number of credits.

Learnerships

A learnership is akin to the older apprenticeship system. In this system, work experience in the workplace is augmented by formal training at the College. The learnership is a formal contract. The SETA funds it, the employer is the custodian of the learnership (with responsibility for the students) and the Ekurhuleni East College provides the theoretical component and specialised practicals.

The College is an accredited Service Provider for numerous learnerships. Please contact Brakpan Campus arievz@eec.edu.za for more information.

Brakpan Campus is accredited to do RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) of various NQF Level 2-4 SETA programmes.
