Ekurhuleni East College

Enrolments for 2012 still open!

Ekurhuleni East College for FET is a Further Education and Training College and public provider of Education, Training and Development.

The College consists of five campuses in the Ekurhuleni East area: Benoni, Brakpan, Daveyton, Kwa-Thema and Springs.

With the introduction of the National Certificate Vocational (NCV) in 2007, integrated theoretical and practical education and training will prepare students for the job market faster and in a more focused manner. The NCV is based on OBE (Outcomes Based Education) principles.

...empowering people with relevant knowledge and skills.

Each year is an NQF qualification and after three years, a successful student will achieve a vocational qualification at NQF level 4. This provides students who do not intend going to University with an opportunity to acquire a relevant qualification in a vocational field. Instead of continuing in the school system to obtain a Senior Certificate, with a one-in-twenty chance of getting a job, students can now obtain a vocational qualification. This promises our graduates to have a better prospect of employment.

Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision

To be a world class FET institution where people are empowered with relevant knowledge and skills, preparing them for the labour market and self employment.

Our Mission

To create a quality learning environment that anticipates, prepares for and meets the Education, Training and Development expectations of our clients.

Memorandum of Understanding

The College is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with two companies namely, PAMSA (Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa) and FIETA (Forest Industries Education and Training Authority).

The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa was formed in 1992 to represent South African pulp and paper producers. Membership is open to any employer in the industry involved in the manufacture or distribution of recycled paper, pulp, paper, board and tissue products. The current members represent over 90% of the paper manufacturing capacity in South Africa.

FIETA serves the South African forest industries, which is a world leader in plantation forests. To maintain this world leadership position, FIETA is committed to producing skills that are world class in quality.

The College has introduced a new programme, Pulp and Paper, at NQF LEVEL 2.
