Student Support Services Newsflash
August 2009
Welcome to the EEC Student Support Services - the department for students, run by students! Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." But before you can change the world, you should use education to change yourself. 2010 is the year in which we can turn things around at our college. Effective teaching and learning is the key by which we can do this and must always be our main focus. Every campus has two full-time Student Support Services Officers (SSSOs). They are there for you, to support you throughout the year with your problems, whether these are academic, personal, social or financial. Make use of the SSS ofices on your campus, as well as the CRC/SRC if you have any problems.
Communication Process
If a student has a problem:
- He/she should first talk to the class representative.
- The Class Rep will refer the problem to the CRC office, who will contact the SSSO.
- If necessary, the matter will be referred to campus management by the SSSO.
- If still unresolved, the issue will be referred to the Central Office, where it will be handled first by the SSS Manager, and subsequently, by the Deputy Principal. Only if still unresolved will it reach the office of the Principal.
